Welcome to Steuben Church!

Pentecost Sunday 2016

Please join us for worship on Sunday at 10:00 A.M. where you will receive an extravagant welcome. Casual clothing is the norm. Convenient, plentiful parking is available on the square. A ramp makes our worship space accessible to those with physical handicaps and limitations. Our Bible-based worship is invitational. It invites people into a place where they can encounter God. The Lord's Table is open to all believers.

"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are also citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God..." (Ephesians 2:19)

From Patti...

Rev. Patti Welch

I thank God every time I mention you in my prayers.  I’m thankful for all of you every time I pray, and it’s always a prayer for of joy.  I’m glad because we have been partners in ministry.  Together we have laughed and cried; questioned and grown in faith; received and shared abundant love; given, beyond what could be imagined, to feed and clothe and support others in need; been faithful to God’s call in Jesus to follow God’s way; been moved by the Holy Spirit to pray and heal…

Yes, I thank God for all of you.  We have been, and will always be, partners in God’s grace.  God is my witness that I love all of you with the compassion of Jesus Christ.  (Philippians 1:3-8, adapted)

Now we move on a new path ahead of us.  On this piece of your journey:

The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make his face shine on you
     and be gracious to you.
The Lord lift up his face to you
     and grant you peace.
(Numbers 6:24-26 CEB)

                                    Peace,
                                    Patti

About Steuben Church...

Who are we?  We are a faith community of God's people. We were organized in 1822 by pioneer missionaries from Connecticut. For over 190 years, we have gathered to worship the Triune God...our Creator, our Savior, and our Sustainer...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We endeavor to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Missions - both local and global - are a vital part of our life together.

What do we believe?  With the Church Universal, we proclaim, "Jesus Christ is Lord." We search diligently the Old and New Testaments for the Word of God because there is yet more light and truth to break forth from God's Holy Word. We celebrate two Sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. We uphold the priesthood of all believers: all Christians are called by God to minister to others. God calls us to live with all people everywhere as our neighbors. In essentials unity, in nonessentials diversity, in all things charity.

Food Bank Sunday...

The first Sunday of each month is Food Bank Sunday at Steuben Church. Worshipers are asked bring nonperishable food items, personal hygiene products, and paper and cleaning supplies. After church, we bag everything and take it to the Plymouth-Shiloh Food Pantry, which is housed in the former Shiloh Elementary School. This vital local ministry serves countless persons throughout southern Huron and northern Richland Counties. Thanks so much for your generosity over the years!

Polly Adams, who delivers our gifts to Shiloh, reports that the pantry is now accepting gently-used clothing. You may bring clothing to church on Food Bank Sunday, too.
